Contribution Rates are based on an 8-tiered system, based on the member's Base Salary as of 7/1/2024, so for FY'25 the VSTRS Contribution Rates are as follows:

If your FY'25 base salary is ____, your contribution rate is____"

  1. At or below $40,000 - 6.15%

  2. $40,000.01 to $50,000 - 6.20%

  3. $50,000.01 to $60,000 - 6.30%

  4. $60,000.01 to $70,000 - 6.40%

  5. $70,000.01 to $80,000 - 6.55%

  6. $80,000.01 to $90,000 - 6.80%

  7. $90,000.01 to $100,000 - 7.10%

  8. $100,000.01 or more - 7.35%

Your FY'25 Base Salary is your current FY'25 signed Contract.  This will be your Contribution Rate for all of FY'25.

Your Contribution Rate for FY'25 will NOT change:

  • If you complete an FY'25 Horizontal Movement

  • If you perform any additional work such as coaching, mentorship, stipends, or teacher hourly work.

The only time that your contribution rate may change during the fiscal year is if your FTE changes plus/minus 20% and you have an increase/decrease in salary that places you in a different tier. Only one change per fiscal year is allowed per VSTRS.
